Official Rules


These are the Official Rules and Regulations ("Official Rules") of Avery Dennison LGM-SAPSSA Graphics Solutions and its affiliated companies (hereinafter “Sponsor”) applicable to all Entrants (described below) of the "Signage Master 2020 Competition" (“Challenge”). Please read these Official Rules of the Challenge. You must agree to accept and comply with the Official Rules to participate in the Challenge and be eligible to win the Prizes (described below).


Challenge starts on 20.08.2020, at 9:00 AM Australian Eastern Standard time (“AEST”) and ends on 20.11.2020, at 11:59 PM Australian Eastern Standard  time (“AEST”).

Sponsor’s computer time clock is the official timekeeper for the Challenge.


The Challenge is open only to legal residents of Australia, New Zealand, (hereinafter defined to as “ANZ”); India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, (hereinafter defined to as “South Asia”); Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines (hereinafter defined to as “ASEAN”). Collectively, they are defined as “South Asia Pacific”)), who are at least the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence or the age of capacity to contract in their country of residence on the date of the Challenge entry submission ("Entrant"). Employees, directors and officers and their immediate families (spouses and siblings, parents and children and their spouses) and household members of the Sponsors, Support Sponsors, and/or the Administrator (as each is defined below), and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliates, distributors, dealerships and companies involved in the implementation and execution of the Challenge (collectively the "Challenge Entities") are not eligible to win Prizes. The Challenge is void outside South Asia Pacific and where it is prohibited by law.


To enter the Challenge, click the link in the respective Facebook post(s) “Signage Star 2020 Competition” between 20.08.2020, at 9:00 AM Australian Eastern Standard Time (“AEST”) and 11:59 PM AEST, 20.11.2020, the (“Entry Period”), complete the online entry form with the required contact information, including a valid email address and attach a minimum of three but no more than five images of the installation showing the before, during and after images of the signage installation to confirm that the signage installation has been completed; the created image ("Entry"). The contest entries that are eligible for the contest need to be made with one of the following Avery Dennison Signage products: 100 Specialty Films, 450 Series, 500 Event Film, 700 Premium Film, 777 Cast Film, 800 Premium Cast, 900 Super Cast, 900 Ultimate Cast Translucent with PET Liner, 900 Ultimate Cast Window Films, 900 Light Control Films, 1200 Banner Film, 4500 Translucent Film, 5500 QM Translucent Film, V4000, Blockout / Diffuser Films, Signflex, Fluorescent, Decorative Window Films, SC950 Super Cast Films. The Entry needs to be of good quality and display clearly the Signage installation in his/her design. The project images should be uploaded as JPG, PNG, TIFF or PDF and have a minimum resolution of ​1920x1080​. The file of the signage installation can be downloaded on the website where the entry form is located.

There will be a total of Three (3) winners, one (1) from ANZ, one (1) from ASEAN, one (1) from South Asia.

The winners: ​The winners will be announced on Facebook on 27.11.2020.

Limitations: People may enter more than one unique Entry. Previously entered projects to Signage Star contests can not be entered again and are thus not eligible. Proof of submission of an Entry is not proof that the Entry was actually received by Sponsor. Sponsor’s computer records will be leading in any such dispute.

SPONSOR​: Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions (ACN 007 706 934) of Suite 1.05, Quad 1, 8 Parkview Drive, Sydney Olympic Park NSW 2127 (the "Sponsor").

AGREEMENT TO THE OFFICIAL RULES​: By participating in the Challenge, each Entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to and accepts these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsors which are final and binding in all matters related to the Challenge. Winning any prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. The Challenge prohibits Entrants from using any photos, images, and videos which constitutes or includes the proprietary works of others or the image of any individuals, without obtaining the proper rights (including but not limited to copyright) to use such materials. Entries containing materials that are deemed inappropriate or offensive or infringes any IP rights in Sponsor’s sole discretion may be disqualified, Sponsor shall not be responsible and/or liable for any IP infringements by Entrants. At Sponsors sole discretion it may request proof from the Entrant in regards to the ownership of the design. Additionally, Entrants fully and unconditionally agree that the Sponsor can use all Entry materials submitted, including without limitation all photos, images, text and videos for any business purposes in perpetuity without any compensation to, or further approval from, Entrant. However, the Sponsor has no obligation to use such materials.

Entries will be considered made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of Entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address or social media account by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning such addresses or accounts. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder. No mechanical reproductions permitted. Sponsor is not liable for lost, late, misdirected, or corrupted Entries whether due to a technical error or otherwise. Entries-including photographs, images and videos- become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. If your Entry does not meet the criteria herein, your Entry may be ineligible at Sponsor’s discretion. You will not be alerted if your Entry is ineligible.

WINNER SELECTION​: There will be three (3) winners per competition. Entry images will be judged by a qualified panel of Avery Dennison professionals including: Siew Bee Soo, David Newman, Peter Wright, Ganesh Khandare and Jordan Leach. This competition is a game of skill and not a game of chance. The Judges will determine the winners using the following criteria using before and after photos: Quality and Skill Level of Installation (35%); Overall Public Look and Appeal (35%); Uniqueness of the Design (30%).

Avery Dennison will not accept any correspondence about the Winner Selection.

Summary of Winner Selection Timeline:

The Winners will be notified by the Sponsor via email or telephone on the same day as the announcement is made on the Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions - Australia & New Zealand Facebook and South Asia & ASEAN Facebook pages (“Announcement”) on 27.11.2020. If Sponsor is unable to reach a potential Winner at the provided email address and telephone number within three (3) days after the Announcement, prizes are returned as undeliverable, or a prize winner does not take delivery of the prize within thirty (30) days from the attempted delivery of the prize, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.


Each winner will receive: (1) One digital certificate, (1) USD200 Amazon voucher, (1) Interview feature on Avery Dennison Graphics Facebook page  (1) Feature article on Avery Dennison Insider Newsletter 


Under no circumstances is Sponsor responsible for any payment, prize elements or number of prizes beyond the stated prizes and prize amounts listed above. Certain conditions and restrictions for all prize elements listed above may apply. Any additional expenses or items that are not specifically listed in the prize descriptions above and any costs incurred in accepting or using a prize are not included and are the sole responsibility of the winner. The prizes will be mailed to the winners at the address provided in the Entry. Prize may not be transferred or assigned until after the actual winner has complied with all his or her obligations under these Official Rules. No cash or other substitution may be made, except at Sponsor’s sole discretion, which reserves the right to substitute a prize in whole or in part with another prize of comparable or greater value.


In consideration of the ability to participate in the Challenge, Entrant agrees to (a) release Challenge Entities, Facebook and their respective directors, officers, agents and employees from any and all liability for any claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by (i) Entrant’s participation, including the unauthorized or illegal access to personally identifiable or sensitive information or the acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of the prize; (ii) any Challenge Entities sponsorship or administration of the Challenge; and (iii) Entrant’s and/or any third party’s use, sale or disposal of the prize; (b) acknowledge that Challenge Entities have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize (any written warranty by the manufacturer concerning the prize will be provided along with the prize). Neither Challenge Entities nor any service providers are responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of Entry information, or for any human or other error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data or voice transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access any online service or Website or to complete a telephone call or facsimile transaction, or any other error or malfunction, or late, lost or misdirected mail, or any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in this Challenge. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE, TAMPER WITH THE ENTRY PROCESS, OR OTHERWISE UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CHALLENGE MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO COOPERATE IN THE PROSECUTION OF ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL(S) AND TO PURSUE ALL REMEDIES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. If for any reason the Challenge is not capable of being executed as planned, or infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, harassment, action of Entrants, technical failures or any other causes which in the opinion of Sponsor, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Challenge, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any suspect Entry or Entrant and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Challenge. In the event of any cancellation, termination or suspension, notice thereof will be posted on the Facebook pages of Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions ANZ and South Asia & ASEAN. If the Sponsor decides to reconvene the Challenge after a suspension, the determination of the prize winner will be made, from among all eligible, non-suspect Entries received as of the date of the suspension, as Sponsor determines in its sole discretion. Entries not complying with all rules are subject to disqualification. Normal Internet access and/or mobile device usage charges imposed by your internet or mobile service provider will apply.

PRIVACY​: Sponsor respects your right to privacy. Personal information collected from Entrants will only be used by the Sponsor and its agents to administer the Challenge and in any other way disclosed to the Entrant. By submitting an entry for the Challenge, Entrants agree to the processing of their personal data by Sponsor for the administration of the Challenge. For more information regarding Sponsor’s general manner of collection, use and disclosure of personal information, please see Avery Dennison’s Graphics Solutions’ privacy policy at​-and-privacy.html. ​The Promoter will only use your personal details for marketing purposes outside those described above if you “opt in” to join the mailing list when prompted. To the extent there is any conflict between these Rules and the online privacy policy, the terms of these Rules shall prevail.

These Official Rules do not, nor do they purport to, limit, exclude or modify any non-excludable statutory guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), or any other warranties (whether express or implied) under any state or federal legislation which cannot be excluded.  

DISPUTES​: Entrants (and, if an eligible minor, their parents and legal guardians), agree that (a) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Challenge or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court of the State of New South Wales; (b) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out of pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Challenge but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (c) under no circumstances will Entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and Entrant hereby waives all rights to, claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than out of pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, Entrant's rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Challenge, and all disputes arising out of or related to the Challenge, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New South Wales  without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of New South Wales or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of New South Wales.
